She manifests as Dattatreya to those who consider her as the Guru. She appears as Shiva to those who perceive her as Shiva. She takes upon herself the form that she is worshipped in. For those who worship her with total devotion, she manifests as Tripurambika. Tripurambika is very dear to Dattareya. Hence it is the duty of Datta devotees and disciples to worship her.
Once, Tripurambika appeared dancing before Appaji as a very beautiful, smiling 12-year-old girl, in her supremely effulgent radiant form. She had worn lots of bangles in her hand, lots of flowers in her braid, and said to Appaji, “You become a Guru who will take the devotees towards final emancipation. May your glory shine beyond the limitless sky”. Just a few days after this incident, a devotee brought a picture of Devi, which was similar to the Devi’s form who had appeared before Appaji.
The same picture was given to the sculptors of Rajasthan who then carved the idol. On Tuesday, the 18th of April 2014, Shree Tripurambika was installed. Below the Garudagamba of the temple, a 3-dimensional Meru Shree Chakra weighing 2 tonnes made out of “Jalashila” has been installed, whose length, width and height are all 3 feet each. This Meru is called Poornaprastaara Meru. It is said that this is the abode of Mother Tripurasundari. In this Shree Chakra there is the abode of 4 Vedas, 64 yoginis, nine devataas, nine mudras, and nine chakras.
On either side of the temple complex, are the shrines measuring 9 feet by 9 feet, having the idols of saptha Matrukaas – Brahmi, Maaheshwari, Kaumari, Vaishnavi, Vaaraahi, Indrani, and Chamundi on one side and the idols of pancha Mahapativratas – Ahalya, Draupadi, Seeta, Taara, and Mandodari on the other side – along with the idols of the Navagrahas and the idol of Vighneshwara. In the Northeast corner of the temple is constructed a beautiful kalyaani of the dimension of 36×36 feet. Sadguru with his grace has made this into a Teertha by adding holy waters of many rivers.
On the exterior portion of the roof of the temple the idols of Saptharishis are installed. The Sapthrishis bless those who step into this holy place. To the left of the temple there is the Naagadevata also.
